SKIP HIRE FAQs
What size skip do I need?
When ordering a skip, if you are unsure what size you need then please speak to our office staff who will give you advice.
Please note ordering a small skip and filling it over the level will result in additional charges so please order correct size for the job.
How long can I keep my skip?
Our general hire terms are 14 days standard included in the price. If you require the skip longer we do offer an additional rental charge per week.
Can I place a skip outside my house?
Please note if the skip is on the road additional permits would be required.
What should not be put in a skip?
The following items are not allowed in skips:
Refrigerators
Freezers
Tyres
Asbestos
Hazardous Waste
Food Waste
Batteries
Unsealed oil or paint cans
Mattresses
If you have any of the above items to dispose of please get in touch to discuss your options.
How much waste can I put in a skip?
All skips must be filled level with the top of the container. This is because overloaded skips can cause the vehicle to exceed its legal weight limit, which in turn could lead our drivers being fined up to £1000. Unsafe loads can also present a hazard to other road users. Any skip filled excessively will either have the excess waste removed or an extra charge will be applied.
I am finished with my skip?
We allow 2 weeks hire for every skip that goes out. Any longer will get charged at a weekly rate (cost will depend on skip size).
If the skip is full before this time and you need another or require it to be collected sooner just give us a call.
